Mobility Equipment For Independent Living
We had a wonderful time. Pat and Pedro showed off a Viva Lift Elegance power lift chair and a Scout mobility scooter by Drive. Residents drove the scooter and enjoyed the rich leather and infinite positioning of the Elegance.
The Elegance power lift recliner is a premium chair, with multiple position options. Users recline like other chairs, but they can also control the head and feet separately. Lumbar controls come standard. And, of course, the chair lifts you out almost to a vertical stand. It’s the perfect piece of mobility equipment for independent living.
Drive Scout Mobility Scooter
The Scout by Drive is a portable mobility scooter that is perfect for use indoors or outdoors. By portable, we mean it is easily taken apart into four pieces (five counting the basket). Each piece weighs between 20-30 pounds (depending on the size of the scooter) and can fit in a car trunk. To get on the move again, you simply pull out the pieces and click them back in place. Turn the key and off you go. The Scout is not an off road scooter, but it will handle packed gravel trails. In its 3-wheel version, it has a tight turning radius – perfect for use inside assisted or independent-living communities.
Affinity Copperleaf is a brand-new community in far East Aurora. It still has that new-car smell. Laurie, the marketing and sales manager is so helpful. She made us feel welcome. Residents chatted us up and made us feel like part of the community. One could tell they knew each other well, even though they have not lived there long.
